The Original Women's Paris Tour

October 8-12th, 2026

Explore the Paris nobody posts about while connecting with women like you. 5 days, 8 women, nearly all-inclusive.

women-only Paris gastronomy tour

There's a version of Paris that doesn't make it onto anyone's feed.

It lives in an artist's atelier on a quiet side street, in a cabaret that celebrates womanhood instead of performing for the male gaze, and on a picnic blanket surrounded by laughter and good food in front of the Eiffel Tower.

That's where this trip goes.

The Original Women's Paris Tour is Le Détour's first and most personal itinerary.

Over five days, you'll unravel a version of Paris that takes years of local knowledge to find. You'll leave with a journal you made, dinner conversations worth retelling, and at least one story nobody at home will quite believe.

This trip is for you if...

✔️ You've visited Paris before and left feeling unimpressed or like you missed something

✔️ You're part of the American military or government community living in Europe and want to make the most of your four-day pass

✔️ You want to travel solo but not alone

✔️ You want a dose of sisterhood to break-up life in a male-dominated field (even all of our guides are women!)

✔️ You're done with itineraries that try to show you everything and leave you with nothing

✔️ You want to come home with something to say, not just something to post

✔️ You don't want to spend hours planning the perfect vacation

This trip isn't for you if...

✖️ You want to see all the highlights of Paris

✖️ You don't like supporting small businesses

✖️ You don't want to meet new people

✖️ You're a man

"I loved the women focus throughout the activities. It's always nice to learn about underrepresented people in history. Seeing Paris with a group of women was a really great way to experience it for the first time. I think the small group and the women-only aspect is what set this apart from others I've taken."

Your tour starts with a welcome drink at your 3-star hotel in the 6th arrondissement. The tour officially begins tonight over a glass of wine during the welcome meeting. You’ll meet the rest of the group–your new travel buddies!–and your Tour Leader, Kendal. She’ll share how to make the most of your long weekend and answer any other questions. Kendal will be with you throughout the whole weekend to ensure everything goes smoothly and in case you need anything. There’s no agenda tonight other than good wine, new travel friends, and the start of something original.

Included: Welcome drink, accommodation
Note: Hotel check-in begins at 15:00. Please arrive by 20:00 if you want to participate in the welcome drink event.

This morning starts at Musee d’Orsay with our private guides who have PhDs in women’s art history. Then, we’ll feast on a lavish picnic on the Champ de Mars in front of the Eiffel Tower. You’ll have free time to visit the Eiffel Tower or check off other bucket list items. We’ll end the night with a Seine River dinner boat cruise, where we’ll toast to the great day as we watch the beauty of Paris from the water.

Our morning starts with a hands-on bookbinding workshop led by Paris’ only female bookbinder. She blends French and Japanese practices to make this skilled craft accessible to beginner bookbinders. You’ll leave with your very own journal to remember the trip by! Then, we’ll dine at a local social enterprise that gives a meal to an underprivileged Parisian for every meal purchased. In the afternoon, a knowledgeable guide will expose the women’s history of Paris and how women have shaped this city on a 2-hour walking tour around the 5th arrondissement. We’ll end the evening at one of Kendal’s favorite fine-dining restaurants, where we’ll share a 5-course meal.

Le Détour Exclusive: Bookbinding workshop

Give-Back Moment: Lunch at a social enterprise

Included: Hotel breakfast, bookbinding workshop, give-back lunch, women’s history of Paris walking tour, 5-course dinner, accommodation

Your body may feel tired after all the Paris metro stairs and walking, so we’ll start our morning with a gentle yoga session at a quiet park by Invalides where only locals go. After time to eat breakfast and get ready, we’ll casually explore the famous pastries, chocolate, and coffee in the Saint-Germain quarter. After some free time, we’ll have an early dinner at a traditional French bouillon. We’ll end the incredible weekend together with the grand finale–a cabaret with champagne!

Included: Hotel breakfast, yoga, Saint Germain sweets tour, dinner at a bouillon, cabaret with champagne, accommodation

Note: The cabaret includes bright flashing lights and tasteful nudity.

Don't Miss Your Paris Adventure!

This is a version of Paris worth talking about. Spots go fast.

Why is this tour women-only?

The Original Women’s Paris Tour was designed as a space where women can travel without the social dynamics of a mixed-gender group. The conversations tend to go further and deeper, the connections form faster, and the experience feels fully your own. It’s also the tour most directly inspired by Kendal’s own experience as a woman traveling solo in Europe.

Yes! Paris is often viewed as a difficult destination to travel in, particularly if you don’t speak French or don’t understand French culture. Many visitors think Parisians are rude when, in reality, it’s often a matter of cultural difference. In terms of sightseeing, we won’t see all Paris has to offer on this tour, but not even locals have fully explored this dynamic city. Instead, you’ll have a local as a guide to help you learn to navigate this city, see it in a unique way, and build the confidence to return again and see more.

Almost certainly yes. Nothing on this itinerary is on a standard Paris tour. Even if you’ve seen some of the sites, Le Détour explores them in a new way. If you’ve done Paris before and felt like you missed the real thing, that’s exactly who this trip was built for.

You don’t need to. Everything is conducted in English, and your Tour Leader handles all French-language interactions with vendors, guides, and restaurants. Please note that our expert bookbinder is not a fluent English-speaker. In the moments where her passion cannot be expressed in English, Kendal will translate. Previous guests have found this experience to be the most authentic!

Yes, many guests arrive before or stay after the tour. Your Tour Leader is happy to give recommendations during your included 1-hr pre-departure call or during the tour. She can also coordinate your hotel and activities at no additional cost.

This is an easy tour in terms of physical activity. However, sometimes guests find the metro stairs and frequent walking to be tiring. This is why Le Détour offers every guest a free workout guide to help them prepare. While it’s not mandatory to follow this guide before the tour, it may help you stay more mentally-present.

In accordance with the European Union’s Consumer Rights Directive Cancellation, all online sales allow a 100% refundable cancellation within 14 days of booking/reserving your spot. Beyond this date, the deposit and any other payments made become non-refundable.

Le Détour understands travel is an important investment of your time and money. The phone call will answer any questions you may have and ensure the tour is the right fit for you. Don’t worry, joining a call is not an obligation to book. Kendal can’t wait to get to know you!

To reserve your spot, guests must pay a 40% non-refundable deposit.

Based on the booking call, Kendal will pair roommates as best as possible based on location, personality, and interests.

Feel free to book a call with me by clicking any of the buttons above. Joining a call is not an obligation to book!

No, as a new small business, Le Détour does not currently offer discounts or sales.

We will exclusively use the Paris public transportation. It is affordable and fast…often faster than taxis! This is a great way to immerse in the Parisian lifestyle.

The Paris metro system includes a lot of stairs. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and take advantage of the free workout guide included in every tour.

Each guest must have their own individual public transportation card, so this cost is not able to be included in the sales price. However, all Le Détour guests will receive a guide as to how to purchase a physical card once in Paris or how to pre-purchase it with the Paris public transit’s app. Your Tour Leader will also be available during the welcome meeting to assist with this process. The estimated cost for the card and rides is 40 euros.

Yes, some alcohol is often included during the tours. Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health–please enjoy responsibly.

It’s important to note that hotel rooms are much smaller in Paris compared to the U.S. and other European cities. Shared rooms often feature twin beds that are close together. Elevators are small and carry 1-2 people max.

Spacious rooms are only found at a much higher cost. At Le Détour Travel, we strive to balance cost, comfort, location, and sustainability with our hotel selections. This often means small hotel rooms with comfortable beds in convenient locations.

If you prefer a more spacious layout, the private rom upgrade is recommended.

In general, guests are encouraged to bring a carry-on sized suitcase. Previous guests have found this size the most convenient for navigating public transportation, small elevators, and small hotel room.

All of the included guides and services are made accessible after full payment is received OR two months before the tour start date, whichever comes later. This applies to: the digital itinerary, private WhatsApp group access, digital packing guide, digital workout guide, digital guide to Paris public transportation, digital “Paris Recommendations” guide, and the 1-hour pre-trip call with your Tour Leader.

The standard rate requires 100% up-front payment. However, payment plans are available. A 40% deposit is required to book. 30% is due two months before trip departure. Full payment is due one month before trip departure.
